Rewarding Yourself

I'm a gaming console fanatic. I love to play games. But now, sometimes I feel like I'm wasting so much time playing it.

I feel like I could use my time more wisely and work on my site instead. And the games are so expensive. One game costs $60, I could buy 5 great articles for my site with that money.

But it's to your benefit if you reward yourself every once and while.

The other day I took a trip down to Game Stop, the video game store. And I was contemplating whether I should buy a game or not.

And of course, thoughts came to me saying that I could wisely spend that money into my business. But I've been working hard up till that point, so buying a game for me would have been nice.

So I bought not one, but two games! But it came with a price. I said to myself if I buy these games I'm going to write 4 extra articles for my site within this month (I'll get into the double edge reward system later).

Wealthy High-Profile People are Miserable

From the doctors, lawyers, business executives, CEO's, they all seem workaholics to me. They are so busy that some don't even have time for their families.

And if they don't have time for their families, I doubt that they have time to waste on a hobby-like playing video games.

They are already stressed out because of their jobs. Having a break once in a while isn't a bad idea for these types of people.

I never want to be like that. Of course I want to be wealthy, but not wealthy and miserable.

That's why I bought those two games. I wanted to reward myself for my hard work. I don't want to always work and never get to play.

Reward-Work System

If you want to kid-around, make sure it comes with a price. If you want to buy a game, like I did, make sure you do something in return-like write 4 extra articles for the month.

Every time I buy something, I make sure I work extra hard for it later. I say things like, "Ok, if I buy this... I'm going to do this later..."

But there is a rule to this reward-work system. When you spend time enjoying your reward, don't worry about anything else.

Give yourself 100% attention to your reward. What's the point if you're playing a game and you're worried about your work? The reward will have no affect that way.
