There seems to be more and more older people these days with a special perspective on the quality of life. For these unique people, it truly seems as if they have found the unattainable fountain of youth. For these few people who are lucky enough to find youth in age, we cannot help but admire them for their enthusiasm and spunk.
You have probably wondered to yourself, how do I get what they have? Well, it is pretty easy, and we have the top-secret answer for you! Okay, so it is not that top-secret, but it is easy to achieve if you follow these simple rules:
1. Always see things through a child's eyes. Children never take things for granted because they live in complete awe of simple, daily occurrences. Because our perspective has been hardened by the world, this can be a bit of a difficult task. Challenge yourself to look at the world with wonder, as if it were just created that very morning. Find the magic in a flower opening, or the beauty in a bird's song.
2. Always ask why. The problem with those who think they have learned everything is that they stop growing. Never stop the desire for knowledge.
3. Believe. You should know by now that not all things that are real can be seen or touched. Believe in the unbelievable, and always have faith in miracles.
4. Let go of baggage. Let go of the mistakes of yesterday, and make room for the possibilities of the future. Let go of grudges and anger, and forgive. In doing this, you will be setting your heart and mind free of any burdens weighing you down, and preventing your from happiness.
5. Realize who matters. There are people out there who will suck the life from you and drain you with their anger and drama. Find the people you love and cling to them in order to flush the negativity from your life.
6. Just be you. Stop troubling yourself with putting on 'masks' for people. People will accept you when you accept yourself.
7. Scare yourself. Force yourself to do one thing each day which goes outside your limitations of comfort. Maybe this includes skydiving or simply asking for help. Soon you will have the courage to do pretty much anything!
8. Love. Love with all you have.
So maybe it is not the stereotypical fountain of youth which turns back the hands of time, but nevertheless, you will feel young at heart if you follow these rules.
